Richard Fikes practices in all areas of litigation with a focus on personal injury, worker’s compensation, and premises liability.  Richard received his B.A. degree from The University of Alabama in 1982 and his J.D. degree, summa cum laude, from Cumberland School of Law at Samford University in 1985.  Richard served as an associate editor for the Cumberland Law Review.  Richard is a member of the American Board of Trial Advocates, the Alabama State Bar Association and a member and past president of the Walker County Bar Association.

Richard participated in his first jury trial in 1985, a few weeks after his bar admission, and  has continued trying cases to a jury verdict in each and every year since.  He practices at both the State and Federal court levels.

Richard is also active in his community serving as a board member with the Walker County Chamber of Commerce, the Walker County Chapter of the American Red Cross, and the Walker County Humane Society.  He is a member and past president of the Jasper Rotary Club.  Richard also serves his community as a volunteer firefighter and EMT and serves as a board member and officer with the Walker County Firefighters Association and the Walker County EMS Council.
